Chair Person

Mission Resource Person

Rev Charles Irwin was appointed as the Church of Ireland Mission Resource Person and took up office during September 2000.

Council for Mission

A Joint Working Group of the two mission councils met several times throughout the year.  A Joint Conference is planned for autumn 2001 with a view to looking at models of integrating the work of the two mission councils of the Church.

The Churches’ Commission on Mission

During the year the Very Rev PL Towers took over from Miss Karin Jonsson as Church of Ireland representative at the bi-monthly meetings of CCOM.  The key themes have been of co-operation between mission agencies, and the need to create a sense of unity with the Anglican Communion by sending people to areas that feel isolated.

All God’s Children

The “All God’s Children” project prepared by five mission societies (MAM, USPG, CMSI, SAMS, Crosslinks) was given support throughout the Church.  The project  focused on children in 5 different areas around the world.

We Have a Gospel

1,500 copies of the report on the Millennium Mission Conference “We have a Gospel” have been circulated along with a study guide.  Over 30 groups requested extra copies.
