WEDNESDAY'S NEWS

The work of The Priorities Fund
(from Elaine Whitehouse, Communications Dept, RCB)

The report of the Priorities Fund to the Standing Committee is always welcomed as the Fund supports a broad range of initiatives and projects at all levels within the Church of Ireland.

Allocations from the 2002 Priorities Fund amounted to euro676,809, distributed between the headings Ministry, Retirement, Education, Community, Areas of Need and Reconciliation and Outreach.

In its report the Priorities Fund Committee acknowledged the importance of both diocesan contributions and individual donations towards sustaining this important ongoing work of the Church.

The Committee acknowledged with particular gratitude a significant bequest from the late Mrs Elizabeth Mundy of St Paul’s Parish, Glenageary, who left the Fund a “wonderful gift” amounting to over euro360,000.
