WEBSITE WIZARD LAUNCHES THE ARK

The story of Noah’s Ark is making a splash on the website of Glencraig Parish Church, Craigavad (http://www.holytrinityglencraig.org) and today it won a Highly Commended award in the annual Church of Ireland Magazine and Website Competition.

Chris Kinnen, a young member of the Glencraig congregation, designed the animated story using a series of drawings by the children of the parish’s Sunday Club.

The Vicar of Glencraig, Rev Paul Hewitt said: “This is wonderful news and many congratulations to Chris who has done a tremendous job. It is important to enable as many young people as possible to participate in the site and the youngsters have enjoyed producing some really charming drawings.”

From the digital photographs of the drawings Chris extracted parts and then built each of them into a little animated sequence and added sound effects. The result is a fun encounter with Noah and it is hoped to introduce more material of this nature in the future.

Laurian Duff, the Sunday Club leader, said: “This project gave the children a focus and purpose and they were thrilled to see their drawings on the web.”
