The Dioceses of Derry and Raphoe has received an important award at this year’s Church of Ireland General Synod.
The award is for n:vision, the new diocesan magazine for Derry and Raphoe dioceses. The presentation was made to the Revd Pat Storey (Editor) by Archbishop Alan Harper during the main business of Synod.
Bishop Ken Good said
“Communication is an increasingly important priority for the Church of Ireland. N:vision demonstrates our confidence as a diocese that we have good news to tell –about a Christian faith that is more relevant than ever and about encouraging things that are happening at parish level. I am delighted that the contribution made by n:vision to church communication has been recognised. We are grateful to the editorial and design team for all their work.”
N:vision carries articles that have covered everything from stress to reconciliation. It is about inspiring and informing. Interviews give an insight into the lives and beliefs of people from Archbishops to those working in the voluntary sector. Notes from around the dioceses give parishes an opportunity to share stories of what is happening locally. N:vision is designed not just for those within the Church. It also aims to communicate in a fresh attractive way to those who may not have an association with Church. With a circulation of 11,000 it is an excellent opportunity to share news with a wide range of people.
N:vision Editor and Rector of St Augustine’s Derry, Rev Pat Storey said:
“I am delighted that our diocesan magazine has received this award. It is an important recognition of the work of all our contributors – from guest articles to parish notes. N:vision is an opportunity to share some of the good news stories from around the diocese as well as a forum to reflect on the challenges of church in a fast changing society – and to do so in a fresh modern style.”
