As 2009 is the first year of a new triennium, there was an election of two clerical and two lay Honorary Secretaries of the Church of Ireland, 

Ven Robin Bantry White was proposed by the Very Rev Norman Lynas and seconded by Canon Robert Warren.  

Rev John McDowell was proposed by Ven Stephen McBride and seconded by Very Rev John Bond. 

Mr Sam Harper was proposed by Mr Wilfred Baker and seconded by Mrs Joan Bruton. 

Canon Lady Brenda Sheil was proposed by Mr Roy Totten and seconded by Mr Lyndon Johnston. 

The four candidates were the only names nominated and therefore were deemed duly elected. 

The newly elected Honorary Secretaries will hold office until the General Synod of 2012.
