Printable versionProposal to Extend Time for Holding of Easter Vestries Heard

A Bill which aims to extend the period of the holding of an Easter Vestry by one extra week, has been proposed at General Synod.

Bill No 9 was proposed by the Revd Niall Sloane to amend Chapter III of the Constitution. He said that the Bill would allow for an extra week before Easter to make it easier for the increasing number of parishes who wish to hold their Easter Vestries on a Sunday before Easter, to do so.

It was seconded by the Very Revd Kenneth Hall.

The Bill will receive its third reading on Saturday.
