Printable versionFive Bills Pass Their Final Stages At Synod This Morning

The Bills which passed their first and second stages on Thursday received their third and final readings today.

A Bill providing for the interchangeability of ministry between the Church of Ireland and the Methodist Church in Ireland was passed (full report seperately).

A Bill seeking to extend the term of office of the Commission on Episcopal Ministry and Structures until 2016 and extend the commission’s deadline to report to General Synod to May 2016 to enable it to finish its work was also passed.

A Bill to provide for the future management and regulation of St Mary’s Cathedral, Tuam, in the United Dioceses of Tuam, Killala and Achonry has passed.

A Bill proposing to increase the prescribed size of Select Vestries in certain circumstances in order to enhance participation in the governance of the Church was passed.

A Bill amending the provisions relating to the regulation and management of the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity at Downpatrick was also passed.
