The Roman Catholic Bishop of Limerick, the Most Revd Brendan Leahy, brought greetings from the Catholic Church to General Synod this morning (Friday May 13). He reported that his diocese has just completed our first Synod in 80 years in Limerick.
He highlighted the recent ‘Love in the Family’ document published by Pope Francis recently. He said the theme of family applied to everything from our personal lives to the school of socialisation and the journey element of a family. It teaches us key points on how we view life and church, particularly in its social outreach, he said adding that ee are ultimately called to bring up one common family in the world.
He asked that Synod be richly blessed by the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
